Blanket measures 35" x 35". Cardigan directions are for newborn; changes for sizes 6, 9, and 12 months are in parentheses. Hat directions are for size small/medium; changes for size medium/large are in parentheses.

RED HEART® "Baby Teri™", Art. E716, 52% acrylic/48% nylon (3 ounce skeins): Blanket: 4 Ounces 9101 White CA, 9 ounces 9145 Lilac CB. Cardigan: 4 (4 ½, 5, 6) Ounces CA, ½ ounce CB. Hat: 2 (2 ½) ounces CA, small amount CB.

Crochet Hook: U.S. Size I-9 [5.5mm].

One ⅝" button; sewing needle and thread; yarn needle.

GAUGES: In blanket pat – 15 dc = 4"; 11 rnds = 6". In dc rows – 15 sts = 4"; 8 rows = 4".
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauges.

To Fit Chest: 17 (19, 21, 22)".
Finished Chest Measurement: 19 (21, 23, 25)".
Hat Circumference: 14 (18)".

BLANKET: With CB, ch 4; join with a sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1 (Right Side): Ch 3, dc in ring, ch 2, [3 dc in ring, ch 2] 3 times, dc in ring; join with a sl st to top of ch-3.

Rnd 2: Sl st across dc and into sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) all in sp, [dc in next 3 dc; (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) all in ch-2 sp - CB corner made] twice, dc in last 3 sts; join.

Rnds 3-5: Sl st across next dc and into sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) all in sp, [dc in each dc to next corner, work CB corner] 3 times, dc in each st to end; join. Fasten off at end of Rnd 5.

Rnd 6: With right side facing, join CA in any ch-2 sp; ch 5, dc in same sp, ch 1, skip next dc, * dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc; rep from * to next ch-2 sp **; (dc, ch 2, dc) all in ch-2 sp - CA corner made; ch 1, skip next dc; rep from * around, end at **; join to 3rd ch of ch-5.

Rnds 7-9: Sl st in sp, ch 5, dc in same sp, ch 1, * dc in next dc, ch 1; rep from * to next ch-2 sp **; work CA corner in sp, ch 1; rep from * around, end at **; join. Fasten off at end of Rnd 9.

Rnd 10: With right side facing, join CB in any ch-2 sp; ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) all in same sp, * dc in each dc and ch-1 sp to next corner **, work CB corner; rep from * around, end at **; join to top of ch-3.

Rnds 11-14: Rep Rnd 3. Fasten off.

Rnds 15-18: Rep Rnds 6-9.

Rnds 19-23: Rep Rnds 10-14.

Rnds 24-27: Rep Rnds 6-9.

Rnds 28-32: Rep Rnds 10-14.

Rnd 33: With right side facing, join CA in any ch-2 sp; * ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) all in sp, sc in each dc to next cor¬ner; rep from * around; join to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

CARDIGAN-Back: With CA, ch 38 (42, 46, 50).

Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn - 36 (40, 44, 48) sts.

Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch-3; turn.

Rep Row 2 until back measures 9 (10, 11, 11)" from beg. Fasten off.

Left Front: ** With CA, ch 20 (22, 24, 26). Work in dc same as back across 18 (20, 22, 24) sts until 8 (9, 10, 10)" from beg, end wrong side row; turn.**

Shape Neck: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next 10 (11, 13, 14) dc; [yo and draw up a lp in next dc, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] twice, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook - dec made; turn, leaving last 5 (6, 6, 7) sts unworked -12 (13, 15, 16) sts. Work 1 row even in dc. Fasten off.

Right Front: Work same as left front from ** to **.

Shape Neck: Ch 1, sl st in first 6 (7, 7, 8) dc, ch 3, dec over next 2 dc, dc in each st to end - 12 (13, 15, 16) sts. Work 1 row even in dc. Fasten off.

Sleeves: With CA, ch 23 (27, 27, 29). Work in dc across 21 (25, 25, 27) sts, increasing 1 dc each end of 3rd row, then every 2 (2, 2, 3) rows until there are 31 (35, 37, 37) sts. Work even in dc until sleeve measures 6 ½ (7, 8, 8 ½)" from beg. Fasten off.

Edging: With wrong side facing, attach CB at lower edge; ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across. Fasten off.

Finishing: Sew shoulder seams. Mark 4 ¼ (4 ½, 5, 5)" down from shoulder on fronts and back. Sew sleeves in place between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Edging: With right side facing, attach CB at a side seam and work 1 rnd sc evenly around entire edge of cardigan, taking care to keep work flat; join to first sc. Fasten off. Button Loop: With right side facing, attach CB 1" below right neck edge; ch 4; sl st to top of neck edge. Fasten off. Sew button to left edge. Fold up sleeve cuffs. Weave in ends.

HAT: With CA, ch 4; join with a sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 3,13 (16) dc in ring; join to top of ch-3 -14 (17) sts.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in each dc around; join - 28 (34) sts.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * around; join - 42 (51) sts.

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next 3 (2) dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 (2) dc; rep from * to last 2 (0) dc; dc in last 2 (0) dc; join - 52 (68) sts.

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in next dc and each dc around; join. Rep Rnd 5 until 7 (9)" from beg. Fasten off.

Edging: With wrong side facing, attach CB in joining; ch 1, sc in same st and in each st around; join to first sc. Fasten off. Turn brim to right side. Weave in ends.
