Hanging Vase

A hanging vase can be made from an empty mustard jar. Paint the jar on the inside by pouring a small amount of paint in it, then twirling the jar gently until the interior is covered with paint. Pour out the remainder of the paint. When the jar is dry, a contrasting color may be used on the rim.

A rope of yarn is used to hang up the vase. To make the rope, cut 18 pieces of yarn into 1½ foot lengths, and braid the pieces into 3 strands, using 6 pieces to each strand. Make another yarn rope to fit around the rim of the jar and tie it in place. Then tie the first three braids together at one end and fasten their other ends firmly to the "collar" around the rim of the jar.
