Project shown is stitched with RED HEART® "Artesano™" in 4374 Merlot.

Knitting Needles: 6mm [US 10] straight and circular, 24" long.
Stitch holders.
Yarn needle.

GAUGE: 17 sts = 4"; 22 rows = 4" in Stockinette st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle to obtain the specified gauge.

BACK
Cast on 62 (66, 70, 74) sts.
Work in St st until piece measures 9 (9½, 10½, 11)", from beginning, end with a wrong side row. Allow for bottom edge to roll slightly before measuring.

Shape Armhole
Bind off 8 sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 46 (50, 54, 58) sts.
Work even until Armhole measures 7 (7½, 7½, 8)", end with a wrong side row.

Shape Shoulders
Bind off 13 (15, 16, 18) sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 20 (20, 22, 22) sts.
Slip remaining 20 (20, 22, 22) sts to a stitch holder for Back Neck.

FRONT
Work as for Back until Armhole measures 4½ (5, 5, 5½)", end with a wrong side row.

Next Row (Right Side):
K17 (19, 20, 22), join second ball of yarn and bind off center 12 (12, 14, 14) sts, knit to end of row.
Working both sides at same time with separate balls of yarn, bind off 2 sts from each Neck edge once, then dec 1 st at Neck edge every other row twice - 13 (15, 16, 18) sts each side.
Work until piece measures same length as Back to Shoulders.
Bind off.

SLEEVES
Cast on 34 sts.
Work in St st, inc 1 st each side every 4th row 10 (15, 15, 17) times, then every 6th row 3 (0, 0, 0) times - 60 (64, 64, 68) sts.
Work even until piece measures 14 (15, 16, 17)" from beginning, end with a wrong side row.
Bind off.

FINISHING
Sew Shoulder seams.

HOOD
With right side facing and leaving center sts on Front unworked, join yarn at Front Neck edge and pick up and knit 14 (17, 18, 19) sts up right side of Neck, knit across 20 (20, 22, 22) sts from Back Neck stitch holder, pick up and knit 14 (17, 18, 19) sts down left side of Neck - 48 (54, 58, 60) sts.
Work in St st until piece measures 9 (9½, 10, 10½)". Bind off.
Divide bound-off row of Hood in half and sew together.
Edging: With right side facing, pick up and knit 80 (88, 96, 100) sts around edge of Hood.
Work in K1, p1 rib for 9 (9, 11, 11) rows.
Bind off.

Overlapping ends of Edging, sew edges of rib to unworked center sts of Front.

Sew in Sleeves, sewing last 2" of Sleeve to bound-off edge of Armhole shaping.

Sew side and Sleeve seams.

Weave in ends.

THROW

Ch 104.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn - 103 sc.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each of the next 4 sc, *[skip next 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1, working backwards, skip second skipped sc and dc in first skipped sc - crossed dc made] 3 times, dc in each of next 5 sc; repeat from * across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each dc and each ch-1 space across, turn - 103 sc.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each of first 5 sc, *[skip next 3 sc, Fptr in next dc in Row 2 pulling loop up even with work, ch 1, working backwards, Fptr in dc in Row 2 below first skipped st pulling loop up even with work] 3 times, sc in each of next 5 sc; repeat from * across, turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc, in each Fptr and in each ch-1 space across, turn - 103 sc.
