Suitable for Intermediate Crocheters.

Finished size approximately 37" long x 15 ½" wide.

RED HEART® "Super Saver", 100% acrylic, Art. E300 (8 and 6 oz. skeins): 14 Oz. 968 Starbrights CA, 7 oz. 388 Teal CB, 2 oz. 324 Bright Yellow CC, small amounts 312 Black CD, 390 Hot Red CE, and 311 White CF.

Crochet Hook: U.S. Size 1-9 [5.5mm]. Other Materials: 14" Zipper, sewing needle and thread, Poly-fil, yarn needle, 15" x 20" travel pillow.

GAUGE: In rnds of sc - 18 sts = 5"; 20 rnds = 5". CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.

NOTE: Work all rnds continuously without joining.

NOTE: Inc = increase (2 sc in next sc).

BODY: With CA, ch 57. Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across to last ch; 2 sc in last ch; working on opposite side of ch in rem lp, sc in next ch and in each ch across - 112 sc. Rnds 2-80: Sc in each sc around working stripe pat of 7 rnds CA and 3 rnds CB. Fasten off. Smooth out the body to make sure it will lay flat and square at the corners. Sew zipper in place. Turn inside out. Sew a diagonal seam across both corners of closed end of body, approximately 4" down each edge from each corner, to form shoulder area. Turn right side out.

HEAD: With CA ch 48; join with a sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist ch. Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around - 48 sc. Rnds 2-5: Work even in sc. Rnd 6: [Sc in next 3 sc, inc] 12 times - 60 sc. Rnds 7-10: Work even. Rnd 11: [Sc in next 3 sc, inc] 15 times - 75 sc. Rnds 12-19: Work even. Rnd 20: [Sc in next 3 sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 15 times - 60 sc. Rnd 21: [Sc in next 3 sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 12 times - 48 sc. Patch-Rnd 22: Sc in first 9 sc, with CB sc in next 3 sc, with CA sc in each sc to end. Rnd 23: Sc in first 9 sc, with CB sc in next 4 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 24: Sc in first 8 sc, with CB sc in next 7 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 25: Sc in first 7 sc, with CB sc in next 12 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 26: Sc in first 5 sc, with CB sc in next 14 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnds 27-28: Sc in first 3 sc, with CB sc in next 16 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 29: Sc in first 3 sc, with CB sc in next 15 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 30: Sc in first 5 sc, with CB sc in next 13 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 31: Sc in first 8 sc, with CB sc in next 9 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 32: Sc in first 11 sc, with CB sc in next 5 sc, with CA sc to end. Rnd 33: Work even with CA. Rnd 34: [Sc in next 4 sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 8 times - 40 sc. Rnd 35: [Sc in next 3 sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 8 times - 32 sc. Rnd 36: [Sc in next 2 sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 8 times - 24 sc. Rnd 37: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 8 times - 16 sc. Rnd 38: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc] 8 times - 8 sc. Rnd 39: Sl st in every other sc around - 4 sts. Fasten off. Stuff head. Flatten neck and sew to body, centering between shoulders.

NOSE AND MUZZLE: With CD ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Rnd 2: [Sc in next sc, inc] 4 times - 12 sc. Rnd 3: Work even. Rnd 4: With CB, [inc] 12 times - 24 sc. Rnds 5 and 7: Work even. Rnd 6: [Sc in next sc, inc] 12 times - 36 sc. Rnd 8: [Sc in next 2 sc, inc] 12 times - 48 sc. Rnd 9: Work even. Fasten off. Embroider mouth with CD. Stuff lightly and sew to head.

EARS (Make 1 CB and 1 CC): Ch 4; join with a sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Rnd 2: [Inc] 8 times - 16 sc. Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, inc] 8 times - 24 sc. Rnds 4-23: Work even. Row 24: Flatten and work sc through both thicknesses across. Fasten off. Sew to head.

TONGUE: With CE work same as Ears through Rnd 2. Rnds 3-8: Work even. Row 9: Rep Row 24 of Ears. Fasten off. Sew in position as pictured.

EYES (Make 2): With CD, ch 3, 2 hdc in 3rd ch from hook; with CF work 7 sc into same ch; join to top of ch-3. Fasten off. Sew eyes in position.

ARMS (Make 2): With CB, ch 4; join with a sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Rnds 2 and 3: Inc in each sc around - 32 sc at end of Rnd 3. Rnds 4-13: Work even. Rnd 14: [Sc in next 2 sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 8 times - 24 sc. Rnd 15: Work even. Rnd 16: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 8 times - 16 sc. Rnds 17-19: Work even. Rnds 20-41: With CA work even. Fasten off. Stuff all but the last 3 rnds to allow arms to fold down over body. With CA stitch through stuffed paw to make toes. Sew to body.

LEGS (Make 2): Rnds 1-3: Work same as Arms. Rnds 4 and 6: Work even. Rnd 5: [Sc in next 3 sc, inc] 8 times - 40 sc. Rnd 7: [Sc in next 4 sc, inc] 8 times - 48 sc. Rnds 8-11: Work even. Rnd 12: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc] 12 times, sc in next 24 sc - 36 sc. Rnd 13: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc] 6 times, sc in next 24 sc - 30 sc. Rnd 14: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc] 4 times, sc in next 22 sc - 26 sc. Rnd 15: [Sc in next sc, skip next sc] twice, sc in next 22 sc - 24 sc. Rnds 16-19: Work even. Rnds 20-39: With CA work even. Fasten off. Stuff legs. With CA stitch through stuffed paw to make toes. Sew to body.
