RED HEART® Baby Sport Pompadour, Art. E257, 90% acrylic/10% olefin, (6 ounce skeins): 16 Ounces 1001 White CA; RED HEART® Baby Sport Traditional, Art. E257, 100% acrylic, (7 ounce skeins): 10 ounces 802 Baby Blue CB.

Crochet Hook: U.S. Size G-6 [4mm]. Yarn needle.

GAUGE: In pat-15 sts = 4”; Rows 1-22 = 10 ¼”.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

NOTE: Blanket is worked side to side.

With CA, ch 151. Row 1 (Wrong Side): dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn -149 sts.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as one dc), skip first dc, dc in next 7 dc, * ch 1, skip next dc **, dc in next 11 dc; rep from * to last 8 sts, end at **; dc in last 8 sts; turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next 5 dc, * ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, dc in sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc **, dc in next 7 dc; rep from * to last 6 sts, end at **; dc in last 6 sts; turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next 3 dc, * ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, dc in sp, dc in next 3 dc, dc in sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next 3 dc; rep from * to last st; dc in last st; turn.

Row 5: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, * ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc **, dc in sp, dc in next 7 dc, dc in sp, dc in next dc; rep from * to last st, end at **; dc in last st; turn.

Rows 9-14: Rep Rows 3-8 once more.

Row 15: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in each st and sp across changing to CB in last st; turn.

Row 16: With CB, ch 1, sc in each st across; turn.

Row 17: Ch 3, skip first st, dc in next st, * ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; rep from * to last st; dc in last st; turn.

Row 18: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in each st and sp across; turn.

Row 19: Rep Row 16.

Row 20: Ch 3, skip first st, dc in each st across; turn.

Row 21: Rep Row 17.

Row 22: Ch 1, sc in each st and sp across, changing to CA in last st; turn.

Row 23: With CA, rep Row 20.

Rep Rows 2-23 twice more, then rep Rows 2-15 once more, end by changing to CB; turn.

Border-Rnd 1 (Right Side): With CB, ch 1, sc evenly around all 4 sides of blanket, working 3 sc in each corner and having an odd number of sc between each corner; join with a sl st to first sc; turn.

Rnd 2: Ch 4, * skip next st, dc in next st, ch 1; rep from * around, inc 4 sts at each corner; join to 3rd ch of ch-4; turn.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each sp and st around, inc 4 sts at each corner; join to top of ch-3; turn.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in each st around, inc 2 sts at each corner; join; turn.

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in each st around, inc 4 sts at each corner; join; turn.

Rnd 6: Rep Rnd 2.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in each sp and st around, inc 2 sts at each corner; join; do NOT turn.

Rnd 8: Keeping right side facing and working from LEFT to RIGHT, work as follows: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 2, skip next sc to the RIGHT, sc in next sc to the RIGHT; rep from * around; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Embroidery: With 2 strands of CA, work 4-petal flowers across CB strips and border. With one strand of CB, work a cross stitch over the center of each flower; work a French Knot at center of flower over cross stitch.
