J. & P. COATS® ROYALE "Silkessence™ Microfiber", Art. 165 (2 ounce balls/136 yard balls): 22 Ounces or 11 balls No. 2234 Butter Yellow.

Crochet Hook: 3.75mm [US F-5].

Yarn needle; 5 yards ⅜" ribbon.

GAUGE: In dc and pat - 19 sts = 4"; 11 rows = 4". CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Ch 160.

Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, ch 2, skip 2 ch **,3 dc in next ch; rep from * to last ch, end at **; 2 dc in last ch; turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, * dc in sp, ch 1, dc in next sp **, dc in next 3 dc; rep from * to last 2 sts, end at **; dc in next dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first dc, * ch 2, 3 dc in sp, ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in next st; rep from * across; turn.

Row 4: Ch 4, * dc in sp, dc in next 3 dc, dc in next sp, ch 1; rep from * to last st; dc in last sc; turn.

Row 5: Ch 3, dc in first dc, * ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 2 **, 3 dc in sp; rep from * to last 4 sts, end at **; skip next 2 dc and next ch, 2 dc in 3rd ch of ch-4; turn.

Rep Rows 2-5 until approximately 36" from beg, end Row 4.

Border-Rnd 1: Ch 6, dc in first dc, work 159 dc evenly spaced across top edge to corner, (dc, ch 3, dc) all in corner, work 171 dc evenly spaced down left edge to corner, (dc, ch 3, dc) all in corner, work 159 dc evenly spaced across lower edge to corner, (dc, ch 3, dc) all in corner, work 171 dc evenly spaced up right edge to first corner; join to 3rd ch of ch-6.

Rnd 2: (Sl st, ch 4, 2 tr, ch 3, 3 tr) all in first sp, skip next 2 dc, * 3 tr in next dc, skip next 2 dc; rep from * to next corner **; (3 tr, ch 3, 3 tr) all in next corner ch-3 sp, skip next 2 dc; rep from * around, end at **; join to top of ch-4.

Rnd 3: Sl st in next 2 tr and into sp, ch 6, dc in corner sp, dc in each tr to next corner, * (dc, ch 3, dc) all in corner ch-3 sp, dc in each tr to next corner; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-6.

Rnd 4: Sl st in corner sp, ch 1, ** (sc, [ch 3, sc] 3 times) all in corner sp, ch 1, skip next 2 dc, * (sc, ch 3, sc) all in next dc, ch 1, skip next 2 dc; rep from * to corner sp; rep from ** around; join to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Weave ribbon through Rnd 2.
