AUNT LYDIA'S® "Bamboo Crochet Thread", Size 10: 2 balls 365 Twig.
Steel Crochet Hook: 1.7mm [US 5].
Yarn needle.
GAUGE: 7 Shells = 4"; 12 rows = 4" in pattern slightly stretched. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Special Stitches
V-Stitch = (dc, ch 3, dc) all worked in indicated stitch or space.
Shell = (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) all worked in indicated space.
Edging Shell = (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) all worked in indicated stitch or space.
SCARF
Ch 46.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, skip next ch, * V-Stitch in next ch, ch 1 **, skip next 3 ch; repeat from * to last 4 ch, end at **; skip next 2 ch, dc in last 2 ch; turn - 10 V-Sts, 4 dc.
Row 2 (Right Side): Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, [Shell in ch-3 space of next V-Stitch] 10 times, skip next dc of V-Stitch, dc in next dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn - 10 Shells, 4 dc.
Row 3: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, [V-St in ch-1 space of next Shell, ch 1] 10 times, skip next 3 dc of Shell, dc in next dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Repeat Rows 2 through 3 until piece measures 53" from beginning, end by working Row 3. Do not fasten off, but turn to work edging.
Edging
Ch 1, [Edging Shell in corner, and in each ch-3 space across short side, Edging Shell in next corner and around each end st of every even row across long side] twice; join with a slip st in first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
