MATERIALS
For the finer texture socks you will need 2 ozs. of La Laine Super Fingering, 3-ply, and a small quantity of a contrasting shade; and a pair of No. 12 knitting needles.

MEASUREMENTS
The directions are given for a 9½ foot-length.

TENSION
The knitting is worked at a tension to produce about 8 sts. and 11 rows to 1 in., after pressing.

ABBREVIATIONS
K., knit; P., purl; sts., stitches; sl., slip; g.-st., garter-stitch (every row k.); inc., increase (by knitting into the front and then into the back of the same stitch); dec., decrease (by knitting 2 sts. together); p.s.s.o., pass slipped st. over.

IMPORTANT
In order to produce the measurements quoted it is very essential that the socks are worked to the tension given. If you work looser or tighter than our designer and the needles stated do not produce this tension, try different size needles until the correct tension is obtained.
