Filet Place Mats Pattern

Approx. size 12" x 16"

You Need (for 2 mats): Columbia-Minerva Yarn, 1 ball A; 1 ball B.
"Boye" crochet hook Size H or size to give gauge.

Gauge: 3 mesh and 1 dc = 2"; 5 rows = 4"

With A, ch 42 to measure approx 13".

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 1 dc and ch-1), *ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc in next ch; rep from * to end (20 mesh and 1 dc). Ch 4, turn.

Row 2: Dc in 2nd dc, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc in next dc; rep from *, end dc in 3rd ch of ch-4, working off last 2 lps with B, ch 4. Cut A.

Row 3: With B rep Row 2 working off last 2 lps of last dc with A, ch 4. Cut B.

Rows 4-21: With A, rep Row 2 working off last 2 lps of last dc of Row 21 with B.

Row 22: With B, rep Row 3, working off last 2 lps with A.

Rows 23 & 24: With A, rep Row 2.

Row 25: From right side work 2 sl sts in end of each row and 1 sl st in each st around. Fasten off.

Weaving: Cut 4 strands B 100" long. Fold strand in half (50" length). Over 3rd mesh from long edges weave double strand over top of rows to opposite end, then alternate weaving back to beg. Fasten in ends neatly. Skip 1 mesh and weave over next rows in same way.
