Make squares of Bucilla "Wool and Shetland Wool," 2 oz balls;
or Bear Brand, Fleisher's or Botany Machine Washable Winsom, 2 oz skeins;
or equivalent

Use Crochet Hook, Size G or size required to obtain gauge

GAUGE: Each Square approximately 8 ins. square

Multiple of 12 ch sts

With B, ch 37 for lower edge.

Row 1–right side–Work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each remaining ch; 35 sts counting turning ch as 1 st.

Rows 2 and 3–ch 3, turn, skip first st, 1 dc in each remaining st, 1 dc in top of turning ch; 35 sts.

Row 4–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st; 1 sc in top of turning ch; 35 sts.

Row 5–right side–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first st, work a bead st as follows; –holding the loop on hook, insert hook in next st, yo and draw up a loop, ch 3 in this loop only for bead, yo and through the 2 loops on hook to complete bead, keep bead on right side of work, * 1 sc in next st, 1 bead st in next st *; repeat between *'s 3 times more, † 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, 1 bead st in next st, repeat between *'s 4 times; repeat from † once more, 1 sc in last st.

Rows 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across row.

Row 7–ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of first 2 sts, 1 bead st in next st, * 1 sc in next st, 1 bead st in next st *; repeat between * 's twice more, † 1 sc in each of next 5 sts, 1 bead st in next st, repeat between *'s 3 times; repeat from † once more, 1 sc in each of last 2 sts.

Row 9–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of first 3 sts, 1 bead st in next st, * 1 sc in next st, 1 bead st in next st *; repeat between *'s once more, † 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, 1 bead st in next st, repeat between *'s twice; repeat from † once more, 1 sc in each of last 3 sts.

Row 11–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of first 4 sts, * 1 bead st in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 bead st in next st *, † 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, repeat between *'s once; repeat from † once more, 1 sc in each of last 4 sts.

Row 13–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of first 5 sts, 1 bead st in next st, * 1 sc in each of next 11 sts, 1 bead st in next st; repeat from * once more, 1 sc in each of last 5 sts.

Row 15–Ch 3, turn, skip first st, 1 dc in each st across row.

Rows 16 and 17–Repeat rows 2 and 3.

Rows 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across.

Row 19–Repeat row 13.

Row 21–Repeat row 11.

Row 23–Repeat row 9.

Row 25–Repeat row 7.

Row 27–Repeat row 5.

Row 29–Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in each st across row.

Rows 30 and 31–Repeat rows 2 and 3–about 8 ins. from beg. Fasten off.
